Kirby, Fire Emblem, Splatoon, Animal Crossing- not as big as the big three, but with the exception of Animal Crossing are probably guaranteed to get multiple games each console generation.I'm not including Smash Brothers due to its all-encompassing nature, but it probably would go here. Mario, Zelda and Pokemon (which isn't strictly Nintendo but close enough) and their spinoffs- the big three.Really, the tier list of how much Nintendo cares about series is something like: When you want to get to a map area in Dread, or really any of the 2D Metroids, you can move through the world really quickly. Which can be a detriment and a blessing for exploring and backtracking. In short, the traversal is just slower than a 2D Metroidvania. If you're going to a different region to go see if you can progress through something you couldn't before, it may take a minute for you to get there, just to realize "nope, maybe I still can't get through there." This is something I didn't really realize when I played it younger, but after playing something like Dread, I really notice it. I will say something about the 3D landscapes and the pace at which you move does slowdown the Metroidvania backtracking. I would never dissuade anyone from trying this game, because I think it's one of the all time greats. Played for about an hour and a half last night and it was an awesome experience. It's a fantastic realization of the genre in 3D. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
